Film on malaria hits the big screen

An innovative TV series that addresses key health concerns facing all Nigerians including malaria and family planning premiered at Silverbird Galleria, Victoria Island, Lagos last weekend.
The film titled New Man Street is definitely a new dimension to raise the bar as far as film making is concerned in Nigeria.
It starred notable actors including Bimbo Akintola, Fred Amata, Sani Danja, Bimbo Manuel, Sani Mu’azu and Emma Ayalogu among others.
According to the producer, Bond Emeruwa “We are using the power of entertainment in collaboration with foreign agency to produce this film.”
In the film, you will meet Andy, a handsome barber and aspiring Afro hip-hop artiste fighting the uphill battle to fame. Andy is a young Nigerian with big dreams who strive to overcome the harsh realities of city life to achieve happiness, fame and fortune. Another character, Mama Ejiro, is a seamstress who aspires to get additional training that will enhance her business by dreaming of clothing the high and mighty in her quest for fame.
New Man Street is produced by Nollywood Concept Promotions and the Center for Communication Programs Nigeria (CCPN) supported by United States Agency for International Development (USAID/PMI), United Nation’s Population Fund (UNFPA), the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Center for Communication Programs (JHUCCP) and UK Department for International Development (Ukaid).
